Reminders 1/29

Helmets reminder

Remember to bring your helmets to Mr. Piper on Monday 2/1 if you would like them to be included in the group helmet certification. If your helmet does not carry a 2010 NOCSAE certification, you must borrow a school helmet for the spring season.

Also, bring a check for $20 made out to EASD. The athletic department will pay the cost of each certification, minus $20.

Please see http://etownlax.com/?p=233 for more information about the helmet certification send-out.

Eligibility Reminder

Any student who has not checked in with Coach Adams (or attended the meeting 1/14) about eligibility this spring must check in IMMEDIATELY.  Don’t wait. Stop by!

Helmet NOCSAE Certification

Students interested in wearing their own helmets this spring for the school lacrosse season must follow the policies outlined on the Equipment and Uniform Policies page. These policies basically state that each student will wear, for all in-season school-sponsored lacrosse activities, either a team-issued helmet or his own helmet that follows some basic criteria.

For Spring 2010, each individually-owned helmet must be NOCSAE certified in 2010. It is the individual’s responsibility to prove NOCSAE compliance at the occasion of equipment hand-out prior to the start of tryouts.

Students interested in participating in a group helmet certification send-out are notified of the following.

  • Helmets will be collected by Coach Adams on February 1.
  • Helmets will be returned by the certification firm on March 4 and will be made available to students as soon as possible thereafter.
  • The cost of certification will be covered by the athletic department, except for $20 per helmet which is payable by check to “EASD” upon submitting helmet to Coach Adams.

Students who wish to wear their own helmets this spring who do not participate in the helmet send-out are responsible for providing documentation of NOCSAE certification in 2010, due no later than equipment distribution (the first week in March).

Please direct any questions to Coach Adams.
