1/3 Meeting reminder … bring helmets for certification!

This is a reminder that EAHS students planning on trying out for this spring’s EAHS lacrosse program and their parents must attend the preseason meeting Tuesday, 1/3/12, at 6:30 p.m. in the EAHS LGI room.

Also, any lacrosse students planning on wearing their own helmets this spring may bring their helmets to the meeting or to school first thing Wednesday morning. The helmets will be sent out Wednesday for certification. As a reminder, each EAHS lacrosse student has three options for helmets in the spring (all including tryouts, practices, and games starting 3/5/2012).

  1. Use a school-provided lacrosse helmet, distributed on 2/27/2012 after school.
  2. Provide your own brand-new, royal blue with black facemask lacrosse helmet. Must still be brand-new, unused, as of 2/27/2012 at helmet distribution after school.
  3. Provide your own royal blue with black facemask lacrosse helmet that has been NOCSAE certified in 2012 (must have NOCSAE 2012 sticker affixed).

Each helmet’s certification requires a check for $22 made out to PARENTS IN SUPPORT OF LACROSSE ACTIVITIES IN ELIZABETHTOWN. Submitting your helmet for this certification send-out authorizes Sportsman’s in Johnstown to disassemble, sanitize, impact test, reassemble, and replace (if necessary) each part of the helmet.

It is possible that the helmet may be scratched or scuffed in the shipping and testing processes. Each part of the helmet that requires replacement incurs an additional charge (from $7 to $47, each part). Additional charges must be paid prior to the helmet being returned to you. If you think you may have a damaged part on your helmet, please show it to Coach Adams before sending it out.

REMEMBER: IF YOU SEND OUT YOUR HELMET, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR FINDING ANOTHER HELMET TO WEAR FOR ANY OFF-SEASON ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING INDOOR GAMES NEXT WEEKEND!

Contact Coach Adams with questions, have a safe and fun new year’s celebration, and see you Tuesday night!
